Join us for our Open House at Station 1 on April 23
Volunteer fire departments across New York State are struggling with decreased membership and increased call volume. Like most volunteer fire departments, we are always looking to bolster our ranks so we can continue to provide the optimum level of protection for its residents.
As part of RecruitNY Weekend, the Pittsford Fire Department will open our doors on Saturday, April 23 from 9am to 12pm at our Station 1, 8 Monroe Ave. We will be joining volunteer fire departments across New York to raise public awareness regarding the need for volunteers and to highlight the rewards of being a member of a volunteer fire department.
Members will be available to conduct tours of the station and apparatus, demonstrate firefighting activities, provide information, and address questions on becoming a member.
Community members will also be able to learn more about the new Property Tax Exemption and our LOSAP Program. These are both great recruitment and retention tools.
We welcome the community to join us during RecruitNY Weekend! This is an excellent opportunity for people to meet their local volunteer firefighters and learn a bit more about the fire service. We are always looking for new members and it is our hope that after meeting us more people will be interested in becoming a part of our family.
Be part of the tradition. Be part of the excitement. Be part of the community.
